Welcome to the next generation of seaports.
The safety and efficiency of seaports has never been more important in a world that is constantly changing. Find out about the cutting-edge technologies that are transforming port security, efficiency and communication.
Safety and efficiency at the highest level
Just as ports are the lifelines of global trade, this is your portal to a world of creative solutions. Our experience and expertise reflect the technological prowess of the maritime industry, and we’re excited to go on a journey that demonstrates it: Vessel Traffic Management Systems (VTS); CCTV and security; Control rooms; Digital signage;
Whether you’re a port administrator, a technology enthusiast or a stakeholder in the maritime sector, find all the inspiration and information you need here. Join us on this exciting mission to make ports safer, smarter and more sustainable.
VTS System - Objectives
Improving security
Improving security:
· Of ships
· Of crews and infrastructure
Real-time monitoring that generates automatic alerts:
· Reduced risk of collision
· Route diversions
Proactive approach that minimises risks and damage to the environment, infrastructure and human lives
Operational efficiency
Optimising maritime traffic flow
·Position monitoring, speed and navigation assistance:
Operations optimisation:
· Reduce waiting times
· Improving quay utilisation and loading processes
IMPROVED OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY translates positively into productivity, response times and customer satisfaction
Environmental protection
It plays a crucial role in environmental protection by monitoring the activities of ships within the port’s jurisdiction, enabling an immediate response:
-Detection of ship emissions
-Spillages and other environmental risks
The VTS System ensures:
-Compliance with international environmental standards
-Minimise the impact on the marine ecosystem
-Preserve the region’s natural resources
-Sustainable development of Porto
Compliance with international standards
Alignment with recommendations and standards established by international maritime organisations.
Demonstration of commitment to ensuring maritime safety and environmental protection in line with international best practice.
Improving the port’s reputation and credibility:
· Attraction of global shipping lines
· Establishment as a reliable and responsible partner in international trade
Radar system
Use of radio waves to detect and monitor vessels even in adverse weather conditions.
Providing real-time data on the position, routes and speed of vessels, allowing decisions to be made based on real data.
AIS (sistema de identificação automática):
It allows the communication of crucial vessel information (identification, position, etc.) to the port’s control operators.
CCTV
Cameras strategically installed throughout the harbour allow visual monitoring of vessels in critical areas.
Visual information to help verify the information provided by the AID and identify potential risks to the port’s infrastructure and safety.
They can work in conjunction with the Port’s ground security CCTV system, thus enabling a unified Port security system.
- Motion Sensor
- Security cameras
- Access control
Drones
Drones complement the CCTV system (ground surveillance) and the VTS system (sea surveillance).
Drones can be piloted manually from anywhere in the world or we can create time-recurring missions that make the drones 100 per cent autonomous from take-off to landing.
There are various types of addons we can add (thermal vision, speakers, light, etc.)
Communication channels
The VTS system is based on a robust radio communication system so that coordination between operators and vessels can be carried out seamlessly and easily.
An efficient communication system guarantees a rapid response to emergency situations and efficient management of maritime traffic.
Control Rooms + Crisis
